Webinar: Using Census Data to Support Early Childhood Integrated Data Systems

ECDataWorks hosted Using Census Data to Support Early Childhood Integrated Data Systems hosted by ECDataWorks on November 16, 2023 for a national webinar using census data . We discussed the challenges inherent in using census data for early childhood contexts and sharing practical tools that state agencies have adopted to enhance the quality of information that guides program and policy decisions. For decades, early childhood practitioners have striven to accurately assess the number of children within a specific geographic area to ensure that programs and services effectively meet their needs. While census data has traditionally been the primary source for this purpose, it is important to acknowledge significant limitations in how data on children aged 0-5 are collected and reported. Don't miss out on this opportunity to improve your understanding of this critical topic.

Presenters: Richard Gonzales, September Jarrett, and Natasha Nicolai

Session description: This panel session will feature a national representative, a philanthropic organization, and a state leader. The speakers will discuss the importance of building the capacity of state agencies and creating strategic partnerships across multiple state agencies.
