Minnesota

“ECDataWorks is a critical technical assistance model for Minnesota to expand access to and use of the rich information repository in our ECIDS. Often busy leaders don’t always have the time to dig into the tool for specific sub-populations.

The data stories we will build with the help of ECDataWorks, University of Pennsylvania, and funding from the Kellogg Foundation will provide our state level leaders, legislators, school district superintendents, principals, and county leaders with quick access to information that will tell them how children are doing in their part of the state.”

Anita Larson, ECLDS Lead, Minnesota Department of Education.

Minnesota became an ECDataWorks collaborator in 2016. Known as an early innovator, Minnesota’s Early Childhood Longitudinal Data System (ECLDS) combines data from Minnesota’s Department of Education, the Department of Human Services, and the Department of Health into one online, interactive database.

In Minnesota, the ECDataWorks team is designing innovative solutions for data reporting and communication to be used by state administrators for strategic planning.
